Byron David Castillo Segura is an Ecuadorian professional football player who plays for Barcelona SC and the Ecuador national team as a right back. Mainly, he plays as a right-back but also can play as a right-winger. 

On the international level, Castillo has represented Ecuador at various age levels. He has represented Ecuador at U17, U20, and the senior level. He was a part of the Ecuador U17 team that featured in both the 2015 South American U17 Championship and the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup, being an undisputed starter for the side in both tournaments. On 29 August 2021, he was called up to the Ecuador national team by manager Gustavo Alfaro for three 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay. He made his senior international team debut for Ecuador on 2 September 2021.

Club Career

• Byron Castillo began his career with Norte America but made his debut as a senior while on loan at Deportivo Azogues.  
• On 19 May 2015, he was loaned to Emelec but was released in July after having problems with his documentation.
• On 1 February 2016, he was loaned to Aucas. He made his Serie A debut with the club on 7 February 2016 in a 2-1 away loss against Fuerza Amarilla. On 28 February 2016, he scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 home draw against Mushuc Runa SC. During his loan spell at Aucas, he made 24 appearances for the club, scoring once in all the competitions.
• On 7 March 2017, he moved to Barcelona SC. He made his debut for the club on 9 September 2017 in a 2-2 draw against Independiente. In his first season, he made only one appearance for the club in all the competitions.

• During his 2019-20 season, he became a regular starter for the club. During that season, he made 41 appearances for the club, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists in all the competitions.
• On 10 July 2021, he signed a new contract with the club until 2025. During his 2020-21 season, he made 41 appearances for the club, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists in all the competitions.
