Eldrick Tont Woods, professionally known as Tiger Woods is an American professional golfer. He comes to light for being tied for first in PGA Tour wins, ranks second in men's major championships, and holds numerous golf records. He has won over 100 Tour events and became the youngest player to complete the PGA Career Grand Slam. He has won 15 majors, including 5 Masters Tournaments. Tiger started playing golf before the age of two under the tutelage of his father Earl Woods, who was one of Kansas State University's first African-American college baseball players. He was also named after Col. Vuong Dang Phong, who was a friend of his father and was also called Tiger.

Tiger reached number one in the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in June 1997, less than a year after turning pro. He fell to number 58 in the world rankings in November 2011 before ascending again to the number-one ranking between March 2013 and May 2014. As well, Woods has been the number one player in the world for the most consecutive weeks and for the greatest total number of weeks of any golfer in history.   • At the age of three, he shot 48 over nine holes at the Navy course, and at the age of five, he appeared in Golf Digest and on ABC's That's Incredible!.
  • At the age of eight, he won the 9-10 boys' event at the Junior World Golf Championships.
  • At the age of 13, he played in the 1989 Big I, which was his first major national junior tournament.
  • He became the youngest U.S. Junior Amateur champion at the age of 15.
