Kurt Steven Angle, excellently known as Kurt Angle is an American retired professional wrestler, Olympic gold medalist in American freestyle wrestling, and former collegiate wrestler. He gained fame for making the most successful transition from amateur to professional wrestling. In 1998, he made his first in-ring appearance on the professional wrestling circuit before signing an eight-year contract with the 'World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment). He made his official WWF in-ring debut in November 1999. He left WWE in 2006 and joined their biggest competitor, 'Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA, now Impact Wrestling), where he spent the majority of his career.

He started using The Patriot's theme "Medal" for his ring entrance, which became associated with Angle for the rest of his career. After 11 years, he returned to WWE in 2017 and served as the general manager of Raw. Kurt Angle was born on 9th December 1968 in Mt. Lebanon Township, Pennsylvania, United States. His real name is Kurt Steven Angle. He is of American nationality and his ethnicity is mixed as he has Italian, Irish, English, German, and Lithuanian ancestry. Kurt's present age is 54 which he celebrated back in 2022 and as per his birthdate, his star sign is Sagittarius. The name of his mother was Marie Jacqueline Barwick Angle aka Jackie (Expired in 2015 due to Cancer) and his father was Dave Angle (Crane Operator) (Deceased, Expired 1985). • Kurt Angle kicks off his amateur wrestling at the age of seven after which he became a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I champion, national runner-up in 1991, and a three-time NCAA Division I All-American.
• Then, he was the 1987 USA Junior Freestyle champion, a two-time USA Senior Freestyle champion, and the 1988 USA International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles Junior World Freestyle champion. 
• In 1995, he won a gold medal at the FILA Wrestling World Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.
• Later, he was offered a 10-year contract with the World Wrestling Federation following the 1996 Olympics. He signed a five-year deal in August 1998.

Kurt Angle's Wife and Children

Kurt Angle is currently a married man. He tied the knot with his wife, Giovanna Angle on 20th July 2012. Giovanna is an actress by profession. The couple gave birth to three daughters namely Giuliana Marie (b. January 2011), Sophia Laine (b. December 2012), and Nikoletta Sky (b. November 2016). In June 2019, they also adopted a son from Bulgaria. The pair's relationship is outstanding till now and hopes it will remain as same in the future too. Previously, Kurt was married to  Karen Smedley on 19th December 1998. However, Karen filed for divorce from Kurt in September 2008. They have two children together, a daughter Kyra Angle (born 2nd December 2002), and a son named Kody Angle (born 26th October 2006). Concerning his sexual orientation, he is straight. 

In addition, Kurt was arrested by the Moon Township Police Department in Moon Township, Pennsylvania in September 2007 on a DUI charge after police received a report of an erratic driver leaving a local bar. He was again arrested by the Moon Township Police Department in Moon Township, Pennsylvania which is part of the Greater Pittsburgh area on 15th August 2009. On 25th March 2011, he was arrested by North Dakota Highway Patrol officers in Thompson, North Dakota, and charged with "being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated" after failing a field sobriety test. Then, Kurt was arrested in September 2011, by Virginia State Troopers for allegedly driving under the influence. He was arrested by Texas Highway Patrol officers and again charged with driving while intoxicated in Decatur, Texas on 2nd August 2013. Later that same day, Kurt announced he was immediately entering a rehabilitation center.

During Kurt's WWE career run, he broke his neck in 2003 prior to WrestleMania 19 which happened in a match where he took a bump into a turnbuckle. It nearly cost him his spot in the WrestleMania 19 main event when he lost the WWE Title to Brock Lesnar.

Kurt eventually found a doctor who would let him compete but put him on a healing agent during the process.  He revealed this doctor even traveled with him to the Olympics and shot his neck up with Novocaine in order to compete. Also, Kurt underwent emergency surgery in July 2015 to remove fluid buildup on his spinal cord after all of his extremities went numb. A week before this emergency, he had surgery to remove a benign tumor from his neck.
